Dobson
Dobson rug style is an ingenious wool replacement for the traditional flat woven sisal products. We use 100% New Zealand singles wool (380/1 tex) to bring durability and all the benefitting properties that wool possesses to this unique rug finish.
The classic characteristics of a woven rug have been adapted to suit CRONZ’s tufting capabilities where the horizontal base loop pile rows are over tufted in another loop pile, but in a vertical position. This creates an interesting texture with a hand-crafted look. Incorporating natural colours exudes elegance and style, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing finish. A more dramatic appearance is achieved by choosing contrasting colours in the base and overt tuft. A cut pile border to the Dobson rug style adds definition. The border width is customisable and varies according to the rug size and to the mood of the accompanying furniture and fixtures. Border colours are generally chosen from one of the colours in the base to create consistency, and to evoke a connected feeling.
Dobson is a low pile finish which makes it a great choice for dining rooms, hallways and living areas where unpretentious interiors are being created. The loop pile height is finished at 10 mm and the optional cut pile border is shorn to a 12 mm level plush finish.
